- Physical/Special Split: Mechanics are updated so moves are categorized as physical or special independently of their type.
- Fairy Type: The Fairy type has been fully integrated into the game for modern type balancing.
- Updated Gym Leader teams: All eight Gym Leaders have been given new and improved team compositions.
- Updated Elite Four teams: The Elite Four members feature revised rosters for a better endgame challenge.
- Gen 6 Learnsets: Pokémon learn moves according to their Generation 6 move pools.
- Infinite TMs: Technical Machines can be used an unlimited number of times without breaking.
- Nature colored stats: The Pokémon summary screen highlights stats affected by Natures with specific colors.
- Running indoors: Players are now able to run inside buildings and houses.
- Upgraded Pokedex: The Pokédex provides extra information including evolution methods, moves, and abilities.
- Press B to run in battle: Allows the player to instantly move the cursor to the "Run" option by pressing the B button.
