Following the dramatic events of Kyogre and Groudon's clash in Hoenn, the player travels to the Kanto region to investigate a mysterious threat spotted near the Orange Islands. There, the player crosses paths with Ash Ketchum, the champion of Kanto and Johto, to prevent a newly reformed Team Rocket from taking control of a legendary power capable of submerging the world.
