Pokémon Colors
Category: GBA
Author: WoopyKenya2
Date: 2025-08-24
Description
It follows a single premise - what if the types of each Pokémon were determined by their colors? Every single Pokémon has gone through changes in their typings based on their Leafgreen sprite. Every Movepool and sometimes Abilities have been changed to better reflect each Pokémon's new, changed type. In addition the game features the physical-special split and vastly changed Pokémon, Encounters and Trainers, making Colors a new and unique Pokémon experience. Quite a few NPCs in the game were also given new, fun dialogue to make the world of Pokémon Colors more lively than before.
Features
- Color-Based Typing: The core feature of the hack, where every Pokémon's type has been changed to reflect the colors of its Leafgreen sprite.
- Reworked Pokémon: Every single Pokémon has had its movepool, and sometimes its ability, changed to match its new typing. Many have also received stat buffs for better balancing.
- Physical/Special Split: The modern combat mechanic that separates physical and special moves has been implemented.
- Expanded Roster: Pokémon from Generations 2 and 3 have been added to the game.
- New Encounter Tables: Wild Pokémon encounters have been completely reworked, allowing players to catch most Pokémon before the Elite Four.
- Challenging Trainer Battles: Every trainer in the game has been edited to be more challenging and use a wider variety of Pokémon, including those from Gen 2 and 3.
- Updated NPC Dialogue: Many NPCs have been given new and fun dialogue to make the world feel more lively.
- Classic Mode: An optional mode is available that removes the custom stat changes for players who prefer a more traditional experience, similar to Drayano's hacks.
- Extensive Documentation: The game comes with complete documentation for all Pokémon changes, encounter tables, and every single trainer battle.
- Nuzlocke Support: A dedicated damage calculator is provided for both Normal and Classic modes to assist nuzlocke players.
