Description
It is a complete and unique FireRed ROM hack designed for players who love a challenge, especially those interested in monotype Bug runs. You play as the child of Katy (a Bug Gym Leader) and sibling to Aaron (a Bug Elite Four member), arriving in Kanto with a mission to prove the strength of Bug-type Pokémon. The entire Kanto region has been transformed, with every wild encounter now a Bug-type Pokémon from Generations 1-3. The game features new Bug-type Pokémon, a custom Bug Eeveelution (Insecteon), and significantly buffed weaker Bug-types with altered BSTs and typings. With enhanced Gym Leaders, custom trainer sprites, and abundant QoL features, this is the definitive Bug-type challenge.
Features
- Monotype Bug-Type Encounters: The game's core feature. Every wild Pokémon encounter (excluding surfing/fishing) in Kanto is exclusively a Bug-type, including buffed and re-typed Bug Pokémon from Generations 1-3.
- New Bug-Type Eeveelution (Insecteon): Eevee can now evolve into Insecteon at Level 27, providing a new, custom Bug-type option for your team.
- Rebalanced & Buffed Bug Pokémon: Weaker Bug-type Pokémon have been significantly buffed with higher BSTs, more Bug moves, and improved typings to make them more viable.
- Pokémon Retypings: Some existing Pokémon have been given new Bug typings (e.g., Flygon is now Bug/Dragon, Pinsir is Bug/Fighting).
- Enhanced Difficulty: Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and your rival have been improved with more Pokémon, better movesets, and held items.
- Grind-Free Experience: Quality-of-Life features ensure no grinding is needed, including Exp. Share, Bicycle, and Amulet Coin received at the start, and "Bug Candies" (Rare Candy replacements) purchasable at every PokéMart.
- Expanded Item Availability: Many TMs, items, and berries have been added to the Celadon Department Store.
- Custom Trainer Sprites: Features new trainer sprites for both genders, designed to evoke the feeling of being a "bug trainer."
- Original Story Premise: Play as the child of Gym Leader Katy and sibling to Elite Four Aaron, on a mission to prove the strength of Bug Pokémon in Kanto.
- New Legendary Sprites: Some legendary Pokémon have received new sprites, and potentially new typings to fit the Bug monotype theme.
- Physical/Special Split: The battle system includes the Physical/Special Split (implied as an "improvement hack" of FireRed using modern tools).
