Game Description

JetBlack was made with the goal of enhancing a playthrough of the first games in the 5th Generation of Pokemon (my favourite I should add, I'm a Gen 5 Slut) by increasing the availabilty of wild Pokemon, tweaking trainer rosters throughout the game while keeping the original spirit of the first instalments of Gen 5 intact such as, and this is the most important one, keeping the Main Campaign limited to the original Unova dex so only Gen 5 Pokemon are available.

Key Features

Complete National DexEvery Pokémon is obtainable within the game through a new post-game quest chain and updated wild encounters.

Unova-Only Main CampaignThe main story is limited to only Generation 5 Pokémon to preserve the original game's spirit.

Expanded Wild EncountersWild Pokémon are more diverse throughout the game, with many species added to earlier routes. Post-game areas are populated with Pokémon from previous generations.

Updated Pokémon Stats & LearnsetsPokémon have updated base stats and learnsets, which include moves from later generations, select Egg Moves, and B2W2 Move Tutor moves.

Unique Move AdditionsCertain Pokémon get access to powerful new moves they don't normally learn, such as Psycho Cut Serperior, Slack Off Emboar, and Shell Smash Samurott.

Canon Hidden AbilitiesSelect Pokémon have had their Hidden Abilities added to their normal ability slots.

New & Rebalanced MovesThe game adds several moves from later generations with custom animations, including Liquidation, High Horsepower, Mystical Fire, Ceaseless Edge, Triple Arrows, Flower Trick, Torch Song, and Aqua Step.

Significant Move ReworksMany existing moves have been rebalanced (e.g., Rock Wrecker is now a Rock-type Close Combat) or reworked (e.g., Guillotine is now a 140 BP Steel move).

Enhanced Trainer & Boss BattlesAll trainer rosters have been updated for more variety and challenge. Gym Leaders and boss characters have new Pokémon, items, and improved strategies.

17 New Optional Battles17 extra battles have been added, including 4 during the main campaign and 13 in the post-game, which feature rematches with all Gym Leaders.

All Legendaries & Mythicals ObtainableA new post-game quest involving an "Enigma Stone" allows for the capture of all missing Legendary Pokémon. The Unova Mythicals (Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect) and Victini are also available without needing events.

Two New Accessible AreasThe Dreamyard Basement and Challenger's Cave have been scaled down and opened up for exploration during the main campaign.

Removal of Trade EvolutionsPokémon that normally require trading to evolve now have alternate evolution methods.

Forgettable HMsHMs can be forgotten at any time without needing to visit the Move Deleter.

Instant Egg HatchingThe Egg Cycle for all breedable Pokémon has been set to 0, making eggs hatch almost instantly.

Berry SellersNew NPCs have been added in various towns who sell a wide range of berries, from basic healing berries to type-resist and exotic ones.

Item & TM Location ChangesItem locations have been adjusted, such as the Binding Band being available earlier and TM53 Energy Ball swapping places with TM22 SolarBeam.
