Description
This hack is a "3rd generation hack", meaning that it doesn't try to mimic later generations and, although certain features and improvements from later generations are included, this hack is a 3rd generation game at its core. Don't expect all the new moves from later generations, or being able to catch 900 different Pokémon. This hack does not include the "Battle Engine Upgrade" or anything similar, but it does include certain mechanics from it (like the OPTIONAL Physical / Special split that happened in Gen. IV, or the Fairy Type). There are a total of 423 Pokémon, including 2 from Generation 8 and 3 from Generation 9.
Features
- Highly Modular Experience: The game is completely customizable from the start with a detailed menu to toggle dozens of features on or off, create presets, and fully configure Randomizer, Nuzlocke, and Challenge Run rules.
- Three Difficulty Modes & Level Scaling: Choose between Easy, Normal, and Hard modes, which scale trainer levels up or down and adjust EXP gain. The difficulty can be locked for a true challenge.
- Customizable Encounter Tables: Choose between vanilla Emerald encounters, a "Modern" table with all 423 Pokémon available, or a "Post-Game" table that switches to modern encounters after you become champion.
- 423 Total Pokémon: The game features the original 386 Pokémon plus 40 from later generations, including Annihilape, Dudunsparce, and Farigiraf.
- Optional Physical/Special Split: You can choose to enable or disable the modern P/S Split from the options menu.
- Optional Fairy Type: You can choose to add the modern Fairy type to the game, which will update relevant Pokémon and moves.
- Optional Pokémon Buffs: You can enable "Modern Typings" and "Better Stats" to buff weaker Pokémon with new types (e.g., Arbok is Poison/Dark), new abilities, or improved stats.
- Following Pokémon: An optional feature allows your lead Pokémon to follow you in the overworld, with a second option to enable large followers like Rayquaza.
- Extra Legendaries & Regis: An optional setting adds new legendary Pokémon not in the original game, including the Sinnoh Regis (Regigigas, Regieleki, Regidrago).
- Modernized Battle Frontier: All trainers in the Battle Frontier, Battle Tents, and Trainer Hill have new, buffed teams. All Gym Leaders, Elite Four, Champions, and even Red and Leaf appear as challengers. Your Pokémon are scaled to Level 50.
- Enhanced Rematches: All trainer rematches scale to higher levels. The Elite Four rematch is now double battles, and a special, powerful rematch with Steven is available after.
- New Maps & Dungeons: The game includes several new maps for legendary events and a completely revamped Navel Rock, which is now a proper dungeon.
- Day/Night System with Night Encounters: The game features a day/night cycle that affects wild encounters, with some Pokémon appearing exclusively at night.
- 15 New Moves & Modern Updates: An optional setting adds 15 new moves (like Dark Pulse) and updates existing moves and abilities (like Sturdy and Synchronize) to match their modern functionalities.
- IV & EV Training Tools: In the post-game, Lilycove City has an EV Trainer, an IV Maximizer, and a Nurse for easy EXP farming.
- Improved Breeding: Pokémon now inherit 5 IVs from their parents without needing a Destiny Knot. The Everstone now guarantees the nature is passed down.
- Catching EXP & Item Drops: You gain EXP for catching Pokémon. Wild Pokémon will also automatically drop their held items upon defeat, no Thief needed.
- Reusable TMs (Optional): You can choose between classic single-use TMs or modern infinite-use TMs.
- No HMs Needed: You can use HM moves as long as you have the badge and a Pokémon that can learn the move, without actually teaching it.
- Nature Mints: Nature Mints are available to buy, allowing you to change your Pokémon's nature.
- Improved UI & Menus: Features include a new Pokédex with detailed stat pages, an IV/EV display in the summary screen, registering two Key Items, and swapping party Pokémon with SELECT.
- General QoL: Includes an auto-repel prompt, Autorun, chain fishing, a combined Acro/Mach Bike, faster battle intros, and faster healing.
- Wonder Trade: Available in every Pokémon Center basement after the 5th badge, with an option for unlimited daily trades.
- Massive Music & Sound Library: The game adds all music and sound effects from DPPt and HGSS, with customizable music for different battle types.
- Customizable Outfits: Your Mom gives you an "Outfit Box" to switch between the Emerald and Ruby/Sapphire protagonist outfits.
- Shiny Starters: You can see if the starter Pokémon in Professor Birch's bag are shiny before making your choice.
