- Modern Exp. Share: Replaces the old hold item with a Key Item that distributes experience to the entire party (Gen 6 style).
- DexNav: Obtainable early in the game to scan for specific Pokémon encounters on routes.
- Shiny Starter Preview: You can see if a starter is shiny (and hear the sound) in Birch's bag before selecting it.
- Infinite TMs: TMs can be used an unlimited number of times.
- New Items: Includes Nature Mints, Bottle Caps, and the Linking Cord for trade evolutions.
- Color Variations: Pokémon feature subtle color variations based on their personality, similar to Pokémon Stadium.
- Increased Shiny Rate: The default shiny rate has been updated to 1/4096.
- Physical/Special Split Display: Battle moves show their category (Physical or Special) icon when selecting them.
- Movement Upgrades: Run from the start of the game (including indoors), toggle Auto-Run, and press 'B' to instantly flee from wild battles.
