Description
It is a highly polished "Vanilla+" enhancement of the classic Hoenn adventure, designed to modernize the Gen 3 experience without losing its original charm. This ROM hack focuses on a massive engine and graphical overhaul, blending the aesthetic of FireRed/LeafGreen with the sleek user interfaces of Black/White. It features a robust Following Pokémon system, allowing your partners to walk behind you in the overworld. Beyond the visuals, Recharged Emerald introduces deep gameplay customization, including built-in Nuzlocke and Challenge Modes, Level Caps, and a "Champion Title Defense" system. With massive Quality of Life improvements-such as HMs that don't require teaching, a modern Exp. Share, and infinite TMs-this is the definitive way to play Pokémon Emerald for both casual fans and hardcore strategists.
Features
- Following Pokémon: A fully integrated system where your lead Pokémon walks behind you in the overworld.
- Modern UI Overhaul: Completely updated user interfaces for the Battle Screen, Bag, Party, and Summary screens, styled after Pokémon Black/White and DPPT.
- Graphical Upgrades: Overworld graphics updated to match the FireRed/LeafGreen style, plus new morning and night battle backgrounds.
- Champion Title Defense: After beating the league, you defend your title against new challengers instead of just re-fighting the Elite Four.
- Daily Gym Leader Rematches: Gym Leaders can be battled again once per day.
- Built-in Challenge Modes: Choose between Easy Mode and Challenge Mode (which features smart AI, competitive EVs/IVs, and better movesets).
- Built-in Nuzlocke Mode: An optional mode that enforces standard Nuzlocke rules until the Champion is defeated.
- Level Caps: An optional system that prevents over-leveling based on your badge count.
- HM Quality of Life: HMs do not need to be taught to be used. If you have the Badge and a Pokémon that can learn the move, you can use it. HMs can also be forgotten freely.

- DexNav: Obtainable early in the game to scan for specific Pokémon encounters on routes.
- Shiny Starter Preview: You can see if a starter is shiny (and hear the sound) in Birch's bag before selecting it.
- Infinite TMs: TMs can be used an unlimited number of times.
- New Items: Includes Nature Mints, Bottle Caps, and the Linking Cord for trade evolutions.
- Color Variations: Pokémon feature subtle color variations based on their personality, similar to Pokémon Stadium.
- Increased Shiny Rate: The default shiny rate has been updated to 1/4096.
- Physical/Special Split Display: Battle moves show their category (Physical or Special) icon when selecting them.
- Movement Upgrades: Run from the start of the game (including indoors), toggle Auto-Run, and press 'B' to instantly flee from wild battles.
- Inventory Improvements: Bag pockets can hold up to 999 of each item, a new "Medicine" pocket has been added, and you can register up to 4 Key Items on a wheel.
- Party Menu Functions: You can access the PC Box and the Move Relearner directly from the Party menu.
- Evolution Move Learning: Pokémon can relearn moves from their previous evolutionary stages.
- Modern Breeding: Includes the Masuda method, gender-unbiased Everstone nature inheritance (100%), and Oval Charm support.
- Smart Repel & Lure System: The game prompts you to reuse Repels and Lures when they run out.
- Detailed Battle Info: Press START in battle to see detailed info about a selected move, including description and power.
- Hidden Power NPC: An NPC in Sootopolis City will tell you the Hidden Power type of your Pokémon.
- Mirage Island Rework: Calculation is done daily, with higher chances if you have Wobbuffet or Wynaut in your party.
- Battle Facility Updates: Frontier Brains and facilities give double the Battle Points.
- Customization Options: Includes Instant Text Speed, Blind Battle style (hides opponent's next Pokémon), Unit system toggles (Metric/Imperial), and Trainer Call toggles.
