Set approximately 30 years after the events of Pokémon Red, the storyline begins in the seaside town of Port Fromage, where the player has just graduated from Pokémon school. However, the celebratory atmosphere is shattered when Team Rocket suddenly steals ten newly discovered Pokémon from Professor Vine. These ten species represent the missing typing Eeveelutions (Poison, Fighting, Flying, Steel, etc.), prompting the player and the professor's apprentice to set off on a journey to retrieve them.
