The game overhauls the fourth-generation Sinnoh adventure by introducing elements and Pokémon directly from Generation 7 (Pokémon Sun and Moon). While preserving the core story and layout progression of Pokémon Pearl, players can select from the Alolan starters (Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio) and explore Sinnoh with an updated, Sun/Moon themed aesthetic.
