A Different Gym JourneyDo not rely completely on your memory of FireRed. Some Gym Leaders, requirements, locations, and progression conditions have changed. Certain Gyms may be unavailable until another part of the story is completed.
Pokémon From Many GenerationsNEW KANTO II includes far more than the original Kanto Pokédex. Newer-generation Pokémon appear throughout the adventure, including special encounters, gifts, Trainer teams, traders, and unusual events.

PKTraders Throughout KantoSeveral Pokémon Centers contain special traders on the second floor where players can obtain selected baby and first-stage Pokémon using Red Throphies. These traders are one of the ways newer Pokémon become naturally integrated into the adventure.
Mission BoardsThese provide optional missions, warnings, daily events, special encounters, and information about things happening around the region. Reading them is highly recommended because they often tell you about content you might otherwise walk past.
Dynamax and Gigantamax EncountersDens and other Dynamax-related battles exist throughout the game. Some are daily or repeatable, while others are connected to special rewards, rare Pokémon, or larger objectives.

Rifts and Alternate-World PhenomenaAs the story develops, the game begins introducing people and Pokémon that do not seem to belong in the Kanto you know. Some may come from another place, another time, or another version of the world.
The Mirror WorldThis is tied to the deepest mysteries of NEW KANTO II. Players who continue exploring beyond the normal story will discover systems involving altered encounters, unusual Pokémon possibilities, and the consequences of damaged timelines.
A Large Late-Game Quest Involving Arceus PlatesThe Plates are spread across Kanto and the Sevii Islands and are connected to powerful Pokémon, Rifts, legendary encounters, Dens, hidden areas, and major battles.
