The game completely overhauls the classic Johto/Kanto adventure by shifting the narrative focus onto the first-generation classic, Pokémon Yellow. Players step into the shoes of Red, starting their journey in Kanto with a customized partner Pikachu, and must work to challenge the Kanto Gym League in any order they choose.
